I have this one patch of scalp in the front of my head that's extremely dry. It flakes off a LOT. When I tried to rub off the dead skin it's very pink underneath and smarts a bit. After a few days the same spot is dry and flaky again. This is the first time i've had this dry patch. It's only about 2 or 3 square inches but it flakes a lot and is noticeable since I cut my hair short. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening and what to do to fix it? I wash my hair daily with Garnier Fructis 2 in 1 shampoo.

I'm hoping it's a simple fix. If I feel that it's dangerous/spreading then i'll definitely see a doc.

I get that sometimes only in the very front of my scalp...very small area that gets it. I think its from washing my hair too much...but I have because of all the gel i use. I find that if i wash my hair only night instead of every morning and night it helps.

I had the same thing and it was diagnosed as Psoriasis. The doctor gave me a cream for the non-scalp areas and this tonic like stuff for the scalp and it mostly went away. I hated that medicine, though, because I got ear infections a lot more frequently while using it.

I agree sounds a bit like psoriasis. Talk to a doctor and get some meds. BTW I've got psoriasis on my scalp and i've noticed that Gariner Fructis makes it itch and flare up more than other shampoos.
