Just getting into target shooting, not really hunting per se. Anyway, where's a good place online to get arrows? Should I go for glue tipped or screw in? And do they come with tips if you buy the screw-in variety? Carbon, aluminum, or wood?
Carbon screw tip if you can afford them. Aluminimum is next. Wood arrows are for indians.
You still have to buy field points or broadheads to screw into the end of the arrow. Field points are cheap pointy end things for target shooting.
Draw length will play a role in your arrow selection, check out Easton, Beman, and
Carbon Express's web sites they all have arrow recomendations for your specific
equipment and type of shooting. They all make top quality carbon and aluminum
arrows. I'd stick to carbons
Once you have that informatiormation head to
ebay, I have found some excellent deals there, but you typically have to trim to
length and install inserts.
If your working with a recurve I would use wooden arrows ( I did). All arrows are glue in of some sort. You either have inserts you glue in and then screw in different weighted field points or you have target nubs that are glued in and are allready pre weighted. I always stuck to aluminum because of carbons price and the fact they never did fly right off my bow. If you ever switch to a compound bow to make sure you get the right arrow for your bow is properly setup you should do paper tests and the sort. A good archery shop can do that type of stuff.
Thanks for the input. I'm just getting started with this stuff, so I don't want to spend alot of money on carbon arrows and whatnot. I think what I'm looking for is basically "beginner" arrows.
