Question for Boston folks

I'm going on the 3rd date with this girl, from what recommendations I've gotten these 2 places sound really great. Turner Fisheries for dinner then drinks at the Oak Room bar. Anyone here been to these places? As far as I can tell both are in Copley Square. I am new to Boston and so is she.

Yeah, Legal Seafood is your best bet.

For the touristy stuff Quincy Market is always good. Bring your wallet because it's expensive.

I heard Legal Seafood is good but very expensive?

well i looked up the restaurant you mentioned and that was like 20+ for an entree... i don't think that is any cheaper than legal

True, I was wondering if anyone's been to Turner.

Being its only a third date, do you really want to drain your wallet? It also depends on how old the two of you are to aid in where you may want to go ( level of well, pocketbook and sophistication actually ;-) )

If you have a somewhat bottomless pocket, (is ANYTHING in Boston reasonable?) you can try KingFish in Fanuel, which is a step or three above Legal. Then there is a great little French restaurant I hit in Cambridge during restaurant week a few months ago, Sandrines... but its pricey.

For some nifty ambience, not to mention some movie nostalgia, you can also try Grafton Street in Harvard Square. A little Good Will Hunting for ya.

Just some ideas, though I am going to guess that, like 95% of this board these days, you are under 27-30 so these may not all be options. Grafton Street may be your best bet of the three above.

Oh, for the record, Dating sucks. 🙂

Good Luck!

Thanks for your suggestions. I am 28, guessing she is 21-22. We both work full time.

Well, she told me the truth today, kinda makes sense that the 2 times we went out, she didnt seem to show much interest in me:

"okay, so at the risk of making a fool out of myself because i'm just retarded, i felt like i should let you know this to just clear things up for my sanity and just to be fair i guess...just to be on the safe side i guess, but i am sort of seeing this guy right now....like i said, things have been a bit interesting lately for many reasons..so i'm a bit overly paranoid about these things...so yeah, i don't know if that really matters to you or not, but i just felt like i should say something. eekk, okay, that was just awkward, i know, i'm sorry"

Guess I could still use a friend since I'm new to the area, at least now I dont have to try to impress her/win her over or anything.

Yeah, I actually have met another girl, going to see what happens. I guess I need to make the effort and meet more people -> networking.

I decided I'd still go out tomorrow night, at least now there wont be any pressure, at least have a friend, important since I'm so new to the city.

thats some serious wining and dining....you think she's gonna give it up tonight?

I'm just playing along for now, she dosent mind going. Plus, if I like the place, I'll bring a girl that I'm really interested in and I think something might work out, curious to check the place out.

So in other words, nope, not giving it up tonight.

Tomorrow night, still going. I want to start checking out places in Boston anyway, no fun going on my own. At least now, I know where things stand, no more games.
