I was curious as to your opinion of the 8500 now that a few driver revisions have been out. Originally you gave us your initially assement based on your evaluation of the hardware.. I was wondering if anything has changed your mind.

You'd probably do better to PM him.

Anyway, although the 8500 has gotten better with later driver revisions I still say that nVidia has the clear upper hand. Even though the 8500 has the raw specs to beat the Ti500 across the board I don't think it'll ever happen because of nVidia's superb driver team.

Then there's always the issue of the Ti500 having better 3D IQ than the 8500 and that's unlikely to ever change unless ATi change the way their hardware works. nVidia's 3D rendering accuracy completely owns ATi.

Nvidia does have the upper hand in raw performance but I would have to give my money to radeon 8500. Good performance, price, features to name a few. If your priority is only gaming I would go for geforce other wise Radeon 8500 can handle anything you throw at it.

Ben likes geforce. 😉
