Question for ATI Card Users

Hi all ATI gurus,

I have a Radeon 9700 Pro. At startup, a Windows Explorer window opens up to an ATI diretory. I don't know why it does this. Does anybody else? I've looked casually for a way to disable it, but I'm not sure which ATI startup item to stop.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks,
George

Yup...

Go to Start > Run > type 'msconfig' > click on the startup tab > uncheck the ATI box.

For some reason they put that crap into the startup. Unchecking that box will bypass it next time you restart.

Can't say I have
Do you know the names of the ATI programs that open up during startup? AFAIK in my case I only have 2 instances of the program filename "ati2evxx.exe" that startup & under

[control panel >services > Administrative Tools > Services]

I have "ATI Hotkey Poller" & "ATI Smart" set to auto startup.

dbdynsty25,

That was quick! I thougt there were more entries for ATI in my startup, but looks like there is only one: "atiptaxx." It must be the one.

Thanks,
George

Algere,
I have the same two services in my Startup/Services area, but I also have "atiptaxx" in the msconfig/Startup tab. It sounds like you don't have "atiptaxx" ?
