my friend is selling me his brand new 12" G4 Powerbook, i asked him if the Powerbook has any warranty or something like that, but he doesn't know as he is not familiar with it.

So, my question is, how do i check if the powerbook has warranty or not or the informations about the laptop itself?

Thanks.

Oh also, if you want, you can still purchase the 3yr Apple Care protection up to the end of your first year of warranty. So even if the warranty wasn't originally purchased you can still buy 3 yr warranty.

He would know if he bought the Apple Care as it is pretty price and he should have the documentation for it. However you can just ring up Apple and ask them if you are not sure.

I believe the 12" and 17" laptops made their debut in late January so it would still be under the 1-year warranty

How much are you buying it from him for? You should consider if it's cheaper for you to just get a new one instead, based on his selling price.

I believe the current owner (NOT YOU) can check their remaining warranty online here and even purchase an AppleCare warranty as well.
