Question for anyone with an Aerocool Coolview case or Gatewatch fan/temp monitor

Hey guys,

I got an Aerocool Coolview case back when the PayPal free ship promotion was on - yep that's the mystery case. It has an integrated Gatewatch fan controller/temp monitor alarm system. When I installed the Gatewatch control software (yup, it's software controlled via USB) it tried to connect to www.hinet.net. So far I've been blocking this effort via my firewall software. Does anyone know why it is doing that and if it is safe to let it?

I called Aerocool today and someone is supposed to be getting back to me by eMail, but you know how that goes...
