Question for anyone who was previously unorganized and a time waster and then bought a PDA.

Just curious if it helped you motivate yourself to be more organized in productive or did it lose its novelty after a few weeks.

Somewhat, a little more organized but not as organized as I could be

Helps alot in school, but it'll only help you as much as you want to be helped

If you're like me, it's kinda pointless to make a calendar and stuff and do this and do that only to be too lazy to check your calendar

I use the notes a lot, store my passwords, some URL's, helps me keep track of stuff like wife & kid's SS #'s, DL #'s, model #'s of lawn-mower, tiller, all that crap that I forget when I'm @ the store & stumble across parts that are model specific.

Address, phone #'s are handy too...

I also like Avantgo, when I get a quiet minute, I read AT hardware articles, WSJ, NYT, etc...

Have gotten so accustomed to using it for a reference, that I'll retire my Casio data bank watch when the current one dies & start wearing my Rolex:D

I had a couple of IPAQ's & went with a Palm 505 because of the size, I use it like a billfold with the case I have, keep my driver's license & CC's in it...

i bought a Handspring Visor from my friend for $32.50 ($30 plus half a movie ticket, hehe). Well its useless...I can remember what homework I have to do, and all of my friend's phone numbers are in my cell phone. As for addresses, no point in putting them in there, I can either put them in my cell (havent done this) or just remember where it is (if I havent been there before, I'm going to need directions anyways). Don't really have that many appointmenets that I have to remember either...

I got a color IPaq free from a vender last year. Everyone was jealous and wanted one, but I thought it was overrated. I told people to let me test it out before they wasted their hard earned money. I forced myself to use it every day. It was nice to have instead of a paper calendar.

Since I left that job, I've tried to use it a little. I bought some programs for it. The bottom line? It's been in a drawer for the last couple months. I should sell it before it becomes completely worthless.

If you already have a cphone, a PDA isn't a whole lot more useful.

it really depends on a few things. first and foremost, it takes a certain type of person to use it. there are some types of people who are just never going to use them, because they just aren't that type of person. secondly, you have to be busy enough to need it. otherwise it's kind of pointless.
