I pulled the clutch cover off my motorcycle today to replace the shifter shaft but I neglected to note what side was facing out on a certain washer. The washer in question is dished and the manual says to place the dished side out. WTF does that mean?

You don't need an engineering type to answer this question. The dished part is the part that goes in, in other words the concave side.

So, if the manual says the dished side goes out then I guess the concaved side goes out right?

I guess I should have asked for the input of the most inept mechanical engineers huh?
