Question for all the overclockers

I have a 2.8C and it's not overclocked atm. 2800MHZ is fast enough for now. Although I may overclock it in the future. My question is does a overclocked CPU crash?

I've had my system running for 30 days now and play WC3, SWG(not anymore), BF1942, Simcity 4, Morrowind, The Sims, IL-2, FS2004 and have had 0 crashes in this time. If I overclock in the future will my system still be this stable?

depends on all ur hardware. but i havent crashed my OC'ed p4c even with a cheapo psu.

when you do Overclock tho and it does crash it'll prolly be a voltage problem and all you gotta do is up the voltage. if cpu is OC'ed then raise the vcire, if the ram is OC'ed raise the vdimm, if both raise both(only if after the OC it crashes)

If you test and play it safe it will be just as stable as a non overclocked system...It will just take time to figure out all the settings you need to keep it running perfect and get teh most performance with. Too many hours spent rebooting to bios, errrr

The short answer is: Yes, eventually.

The long answer is: If you thoroughly test the system at each level of overclock, provide good cooling, and do not try to overclock to extreme levels, you should be able to achieve a very stable system.

Most people either a) aren't thorough, or b) try to go to extreme levels.

I overclock a Barton 2500 (1.83) to 2.0 (2800 level, more or less) and I can't tell the difference in stability between overclocked and default.
