Hey all. I've decided that I will be building a computer this summer (which I've never done before) and I have one question right now (although I'm sure I'll have plenty of others as school ends and I can really start this). What parts should I definitely NOT get OEM and buy retail. Processor? RAM? Hard Drive? What part could be a potential major headache if I get it OEM and something goes wrong? My understanding of an OEM product is a product that is just the hardware, without things like a manual. Remember that my knowledge of computers is SIGNIFICANTLY less than most of yours, so try to put yourself in my shoes. Thanks.

Try going retail for everything, espicaly the processor, and motherboard. Get a manual. If you don't know how to do somthing, a manual can definitly help. If theres a signifigant price difference though, and the warentey is the same, then you might as well go OEM...except for the CPU and MoBo.

IMHO at least
