Question for a maid or housekeeper?

Quick question for any maids or housekeepers.

We have a maid/housekeeper come in twice a week to clean our home. Every once in a while my wife will chew out the maid for not cleaning good enough or missing something. I've sort of noticed that when this happens, my toothbrush tends to taste funny and I was wondering if the maid might be retaliating by using our toothbrushes for a purpose besides oral hygiene? I've since started taking a new toothbrush everytime my wife chews out the maid. My wife thinks this is silly, but it certainly appears that her toothbrush is becoming worn out much quicker than usual. I'm thinking about getting a hiden camera (Nanny Cam) to see what is going on when the maid shows up. Does anyone else have this paranoid feeling after chewing out their maid?

When I had a shitty roommate, the day that I moved out I cleaned the toilet with his toothbrush.

We've never had to chew out the house cleaners, my wife will talk to them about any issues, but never berate them. I'd be nervous about tearing some one a new a-hole, then letting them have free run of your house while your out. I'd be paranoid like you.

Edit for Spunkys usual bad grammar.

I wondered about it at one time. We schedule like this now.
Gardener/landscaper comes to do his work.
Pool guys comes in case gardener/landscaper gets any grass into any of the pools.
Handyman come in and makes repairs.
Maid comes in and cleans the main house and guest house.
Then the toothbrush cleaners come in behind the maid. We hire a different toothbrush service each week so that they can never get an attitude.

Why would your wife "chew out" anyone for a mistake? Raise your points politely and they'll probably get addressed. Talk down to someone and you deserve whatever revenge ensues.

Edit for Clarification: If you or your wife have been berating your housekeeper, I hope that your toothbrush has, indeed, gone from under the rim of the toilet to inside your mouth. There's just no reason to degrade people as your original post made it sound like you do.

It sounds like the rich wife needs a lesson in common courtesy.

Ever see the movie "Overboard"?

Yeah, if the wife is chewing them out I HOPE the toothbrushes are cleaning toilets. I dont care for rich snobby bitches.

She's probably just a bitch.
There's no need to chew out the help, a simple firm talking usually takes care of things.
And if that doesn't work, just switch services.

Really? I have my handyman come in before the pool guy. Sometimes he will check/clean the gutters and get some stuff in the pool. Something you might want to check on. Not a hugh difference but just that extra little sparkle.

Oh and I kinda had a problem with my 2nd floor cleaning people. the 1st floor people were good but the 2nd floor not as well. So I am getting a new crew for the first floor and moving old 1st floor to the 2nd. Now our guest house we just give one of the cleaning people a extra $20 and let them touch it up from time to time. Nothing major. But that just my thinking.

What does your wife complain to them about? Your house is cleaned twice a week, even if they miss something one day, they'll probably get it on the next one.

My fiancee once suggested we might have someone come in to clean up from time to time. And someone else to come and pick up the dog shart in the back yard. We had to sit down and have a discussion about why as an adult I can clean up after myself, cook my own meals and pick up my own dog shit. If I was disabled it would be another story, but she had to choose between me and a maid. I'm glad to say that I got to stick around and help out with housework more.

Our domestic help doesn't respect our authority unless we threaten and yell once in a while. I wish we didn't have to stoop to such base actions but honestly they just don't listen otherwise and it's good to keep them in line.

We raise our voices and try to annunciate but most domestic servants are useless and lazy and don't take enough pride in their work.

I hope you're being sarcastic. If not, I hope your toothbrush has been in the toilet, or worse.

if they're hispanic, and you don't know the spanish equivalent of a word, just say the english word, with an "o" at the end.

Screaming "Federales" seems to work with the newer ones. The more seasoned need actual physical 'motivation'.

well then #1 why hire them?

#2 perhaps you should take a violation of your toothbrush and/or silverware, the rim of your mouthwash bottle.....anything that comes into contact with your mouth into consideration before you yell at the help.

to the OP....if I was a domestic worker and someone berated me without the consideration of addressing me like an adult, in a civil, professional manner....yeah...your tooth brush would find its way into a toilet a sink drain or my ass if the mood hit.

either address the help nicer or lock your shit up.

You can buy one of those 50 sq ft tiny houses and clean the whole house w/ 1 sheet of paper towel.
