Hey guys, quick question.

If i decide to port my number to another carrier and fully pay my ETF, will my current phone be blacklisted? Just thinking if i decide to sell the phone after.

You can, by current law, take your phone number with you.

He's talking about the phone, not the number.
Anyway. Your phone will not be blacklisted. Sell or give phone away as planned once you switch carriers and port your number.

The only reasons why the ESN would be blacklisted was if it was reported stolen or there`s a remaining balance on the account.

You'll be fine, I'm doing the same thing. I've had enough and am taking my two lines elsewhere. My refurb evo came today and will use it to pay the ETF.

What's the story on that? How long were you waiting?

Two weeks. Made me drive an hour and a half to a repair center to verify I didn't break it and it was a warranty issue(USB port broke) They said they would order it and have it delivered to my house overnight delivery, this is on a Friday. Come Tuesday and no phone I call Sprint who shows nothing on my account. Call the store and they don't know what happened, again they said it's ordered. Come Thursday and no phone I call back. Same story. This time Sprint itself gets involved and orders the phone. Saturday I get my phone, the idiots sent a Blackberry 8330 which is what I had activated at the time so I would have a phone. They didn't bother to look at what was going on and just ordered what was one the account. Called them back, explained the situation one more time, and the ordered an EVO. As luck would have it they didn't have any and were now on backorder. I tried to get them to replace it with something else and no dice. I finally got my new to me refurb today, two weeks after first going to the store. If I wouldn't have had a back-up phone I would have been without a phone for two weeks. This is absolutely ridiculous. My ETF for the two lines is $200 total and I am happy to pay it.

I'll tell you one thing. Going two weeks with an old antiquated BB will make you appreciate a modern phone and operating system.

Jeez, that is a scary thought. I currently have no backup since this is my first Sprint phone. I have VZW BB 8330, an OG Droid, and a VWZ BB 8130.
I guess I will be screwed.

I already filed a complaint and emailed corporate. I even emailed dan, lol.
My first EVO was defective out the box. The 3g radio wouldn't work. But it would show 3g, HTC removed the 1x symbol.
I asked to exchange it for a new phone. (still less than 30 days in). I still had to spend hours on the phone and drive back and forth several times to make that happen. First 30 days! They wanted to give me a refurb.

I'm going to have a two strike system. I don't mind a refurb if my phone is several months old or more, but if they make me wait more than a day, I'll tell them to keep the phone, I'm gone.

But according to the surveys they have good customer service! I will give them this, the agents always are English speakers and genuinely seem willing but are handicapped by Sprint's policies.

I really never had a problem with Sprint, until I came to my current job about a year ago. I have constant 1 bar inside my small building, it either drops calls or echos really bad, and its really a PITA running outside to take a call. I thought it was my old phone, then I upgraded to the Arrive about 2 months ago with same results. I found my old Sprint flip phone last night and activated that on my account, replaced the Arrive, so im going to ebay the arrive and take my time to pay the ETF bill. Finally I ported my number over to my new carrier about an hour ago.
