Question: Does this stance make Mitch McConnell evil?

Does pledging support of Trump in 2024 if nominated make him evil?

By his own words Donald Trump incited an insurrection on our government resulting in the deaths of capitol police and numerous permanent injuries. Question put to McConnell if Trump is the 2024 GQP nominee will you support him? Here is the response.

If he ran and lost again Trump could recreate that same deadly insurrection. His people would participate. So I put this up in a poll question

McConnel has always been party over country and believes the only Good America is the one that is run by the GOP.
Motherfucker has been about that since day 1.
HE would gladly fuck any American over if their was no political gain for the republican party.
He's been nothing but bullshit and lies since he joined the senate.
Their is no equivalent to how that asshole operates.
Anyone who makes Boehner look like a reasonable guy interested in working together for the good of the country is fucking asshole.

Yes, saying you would support someone you appear to think is a criminal who got people killed for president just because they are a member of your party is evil.

I imagine he is just cynical in the way that he will work behind the scenes to try and keep Trump from being the nominee but finds it politically expedient to say he would support him. This is of course also pretty evil.

Yet McConnell did more than anyone else to save Trump from Senate conviction for sedition and insurrection.

Which part was the turncoat? When he said Trump caused the insurrection or when he pledged his 2024 support?

McConnell’s support of Trump is basically a concession that he is powerless to rid the party of Trumpism. He was testing the waters the hours and days after the insurrection, feeling the sense of collective shock and anger in that moment. But the information cycles move on, and the collective psyche does as well. We’re past that moment.

Mitch IS evil but not every little thing he does is evil.
Trust me though, every good thing he does is probably to assist with the overall cause of Evil.

To me the fact be can look the family of Brian Sicknick in the eye and tell them I know Trump was responsible for Brian's death but I would support Trump in 2024 sounds like evil 101

When he speaks I see a person who appears to imagine he speaks with great gravitas and solemnity as if he had important things to say to people in a hypnotic state. What I hear, however, is a hollow man.

I'm going to guess McConnell wants to be Majority Leader again. And he can’t become Majority Leader if in the time between elections his fellow-Senators vote him out as Minority Leader. He has to say "absolutely, I’ll support Trump"- as long as Trump remains high in polls of Republicans. If or when Trump tanks, Mitch will stop saying he’ll support him.
