I have a Promise ATA 66 card as well as a ATA66 HD. I will eventually upgrade soon to an ATA100 HD and Card, but but in the meantime, I'd like to get a couple rounded cables from PcCables.com. I figured why not just get the ATA100 variety while I'm at it since I'll end up upgrading anyhow. Are there any drawbacks/conflicts with using ATA 100 cables on ATA 66 peripherals? Is ATA 100 even worth the upgrade?

I believe ATA66 and ATA100 Cables are exactly the same. The its just how the components talk to each other. So no conflicts should exist.

BTW, PCCables is out of the rounded cables. Both varieties. I saw no ETA when I visited their site an hour ago.

Since most computers now don't even take advantage of ata 66 I doubt many operating systems will take advantage of ata100 at the moment.
