I have a 8800gt 512 and a 24" Sceptre monitor. I'm planning to buy a 24-32" LCD HDTV 720p. What I want to do is to have my HDTV show the same image as what's on my monitor. I don't want to use a dual display setup to increase my real estate or resolution.

My questions are:

1. My monitor is 1920x1200 but 720p is 1366x768 or 1280x720. Will this difference between the two output resolutions place extra stress on my video card and use extra resources? Will the video card have to re-render the image again to be displayed in 720p? I will be playing movies and graphic intensive games that will be displayed on both monitor and HDTV (again I only want to mirror the picture from my monitor onto the HDTV). Is 512mb video ram enough? I would prefer not to upgrade to a 1gb card unless absolutely necessary.

2. I don't have much experience with dual display setups. I want 1920x1200 to be my primary resolution and 1366x728 or 1280x720 on my HDTV. Will there be any black borders, stretching, or cropping on the HDTV? How does having a secondary display with a different resolution work?
