good service? reliable? fast connection?

I heard that some peepz got disconnect at least once every night.

What brand and model of cable modem did they give you?

And did you subscribe the cable TV along with the pipeline? If yes, what brand and model of cable box did they give you?

I live in Illinois with mediacom cable and I always get disconnected 2 or 3 times a day at random times so it could just a cable thing and not necessarily a charter thing.

I am in Glendale.. I got analog TV with (so no cable box) and a SurfBoard Modem. Connection stable all day, execpt when it goes down then its a bitch.. Speed 768/128 .. but we are upgrading to 1.5/256 next week and getting digital cable.

Presently we are paying $89 with cabletv (some premium channels) and cable Internet. Next week we will have digital cable + cable interent (which will be 10 dollars cheaper for us) and we are asking for a higher speed which is 20 dollars more .. so from next month on we pay 99$/mo

I am happy with the service... execpt when it goes down. Ask for the differnet levels of service, otherwise they by default give you 384/128..

Keep a modem handy or have a router with a external modem ability so you wont go down.. It hasnt gone down for us in a couple of months, but the last time it did go down it took 2 days to fix, it would keep going up and down. Turns out they lost a local switch and had to replace it for our node.

go to www.dslreports.com for some insight as to who has what and how good. I have Charter Pipeline, and I am very disapointed in them. But I am not in your neighborhood. They make promises they don't keep. They capped my service and did not inform me nor reduce my bill. They advertise to sign up new customers, then put hem on a waiting list with the explanation that they can't add customers until their service improves. They subcontract the service out to a company 600 miles away in another state, and we suffer with bucket loads of excuses for lost packets, slow connect speeds, unresponsive service.

If I had another choice for braoadband, it wouldn't be Charter. DSL is soon to arrive here, and when it does, screw Charter. I'm gone.

Your milage may vary.;)

I've been there but the review i got there is really mixed. Just like you and The_good_guy's comment. 50% says good and 50% says bad....

OK... i'll get that instead...
