Question: Can I use a Win 98 boot disk to set up WIn 2k pro?

I attempted the same thing, no go. You may try to fool around with it, but its probably easier to just make a set of boot disks from the CD.

You can use the windows98 boot disk to get cd rom support up and then inside the Win2k disc, run /i386/winnt.exe to setup windows2000. I am pretty sure that will work although I have never tried it.

why don't you just booted it off from the cd?

Go to Bios and change boot setting to CD-rom as first device

put the 2k cd... i tihnk when u explore it.. you should see a folder MAKEBOOT... if not check the I386 folder... you will need 4 floppies... good luck! :p

The file you want to look for is

makebt32.exe

and yeah, 4 floppies for Setup Boot Disks :)
