Radio shack makes an PS/2 jack to USB plug adapter(#26-241), anyone ever use such an adapter? Was wondering if *any* old PS/2 keyboard can be adapted with something like this & work out of the USB port? TIA

I think the keyboard needs to be built for both USB or PS/2. Aparantly it detects which one its plugged into and sends the propper signals for that interface. I could be wrong though.

Thanx 4 the replies!

forcesho - Did all the one's that work state that on the label, ie "PS/2 or USB"? Any other way 2 know ahead if it will work? I have a few older Windows9x 104-key PS/2 keyboards, I want 1 to use with my laptop...I assume some were built B4 USB was around.

What would be the advantage of doing this? USB is meant to be faster and using this convertor would not make the keyboard any better. The only use of this adapter would be that if you had something that needed to be plugged into the keyboard ps2 port but I can't think of anything like this.
