question bout ocing core i7 920

cpu - core i7 920 @ 3ghz stock cooler
idles at 45C
load temps so far 52-55C
intel smackover dx58s0
mushkin 6gbs ddr 1600 9-9-9-24


so far i turned off
the turbo option on the mobo
c1e and speedstep

i hit 3.0ghz so far , on stock
how much more could i go ?
and i cannot find the qpi multi

if anyone can give me more advice on how to oc on this mobo please do !

I would get a better mobo. JK....

should be able to do 3.2 GHz on stock, just watch temps when stressing. make sure your uncore multi is safe, and you may need to up QPI VTT a bit if not using turbo mode.

not bad, I would stop there for now. Get a good cooler! Or try linpack and if temps are still below 70 you could try for another 100 or 200 MHz.

If you're doing such a mild overclock, your cpu should easily handle speedstep/c1e at the speeds you're running. You'll save alot of power with less heat when your cpu is idling (of course if you're a folder et al it won't matter as much)
