Hello all. Got a soundcard in this machine based on the Yamamamahaha XG chipset. From the line out of the card, I run the cable to my receiver and through my home stereo. Occasionally, (rather frequently actually) I get this nasty-ass sound belching from the speakers. Having been through audio training, I recogonise that kind of distortion as either clipping, or the overdrive of an input. All of the volumes in the volume control panel are resting comfortably in the center while I make my amplifier (much cleaner) do all the work to make it loud if I want.
This noise generally happens when watchin' crappy Flash, or Shockwave presentations. Funny as they may be, they often sound like dung. Rarely, if ever, do I hear it while playing games and never when I play CDs or mp3s. Anyone know if this is my hardware makin' all this racket, or is it a simple case of piss-poor mastering on the part of the multimedia authors?
As always, help is most appreciated.
