Hi,

I am looking to buy a video editing card but since I haven't done any of that before I am totaly clueless. I don't want a very basic card which would only record stuff from Camcorder or VCR and put it into PC format. I am looking for a card which would be able to do good quality editing, insert special effect, do professional (or close to it) titling, and produce a high quality, high resolution video which can be recorded back onto tape or VCD. At the same time, I don't want to spend $10,000... is that too much to ask? :) Any direction on that?

Thank you.

You might wanna look at the Matrox RT2000. It requires that you use the G400 3D video card, and you might want to look at putting it into a 440BX motherboard (it works best with it), but overall it's a decent card. We use one here at the office to do up tapes of our meetings and seminars we occasionally have. The real problem with the card is the massive list of incompatibilities, but I was able to put an entire system together (monitor and RAM excluded) for about $2500 which includes this card (which is about $1500 Canadian).
