Question: Are donations to non-profits tax-deductible for companies?

I know they are for individuals, but what about for companies? A friend of mine told me they weren't; however, in every instance that I've been dealing with different companies, they've wanted copies of the Tax-ID information and any tax information I can get.

Help here would be much appreciated.

Any legitimate expenses are tax deductible to companies.

Comes under the cost of doing business.
