Question: Anyone else notice a lowering of 3dmark scores when dx8 installed?

just wondering cause i lost about 370 marks in the standard test once i installed dx8.
I know its a kinda useless bench but it does show how 1 particular setup changes.
Please reply if you have seen changes good or bad!
And if you know a link where i can see results or a database reflecting 3dmark comparing 7a and 8 of directx.

3dmark sucks anyways. Did you quake3 timedemos give you lower results?

Umm...I went up about 300 marks and gained about 5.5fps in Quake3. Strange.

3dmarks on my p3v4x,AIW Radeon fell when dx8 was installed. Sachs marine demo showed the most significant drop in fps. Nascar Heat graphics demo dropped as well. Reinstalled video drivers and VIA agp driver. All direct 3d benchmark scores are now close to what they were before. The slight drop for my system is due to different video drivers. For me the Radeon 7020's are just a bit slower than the 3056's that came with the card. The fish demo is now much faster due to registry hacks found at rage3d.
