Question abt. RDRAM & DDRAM

I have 256 MB PC800 RDRAM with me, Can I replace it with 256 PC2100 DDRAM? I mean replace the entire RDRAM memory with the DDR. If I can't, can you put some light, why I cannot? But if I can than should I need to do any other additional thing for it to work apart from replacing RDRAM with the DDR?

DDR and RDram are not phisically or technically interchangable. Won't fit, won't work, no execptions.

😉 Yep new mobo is the only option. RDRAM is pretty much dead and way over-priced. For the mobo I'd suggest (order of perf & hence price) Intel 845PE with DDR-PC3200, SiS' Dual Channel version with 2xPC2700 (if you don't plan to o/c), Intel's GraniteBay Dual Channel using 2xDDR-PC2700 (esp if o/c'ing) or 2xPC3200 or for top perf an 800FSB ready mobo with Dual Channel 2xDDR-PC3200.

DDR is not DDRAM, its DDR ram, the DDR stands for Double Data Rate, hehe, jsut a little FYI

eh, its entered the popular parlance. try as we might, people are still going to say "DDRAM" "heatsink" and that anything with a fan on it is "active"
