I have 256 MB PC800 RDRAM with me, Can I replace it with 256 PC2100 DDRAM? I mean replace the entire RDRAM memory with the DDR. If I can't, can you put some light, why I cannot? But if I can than should I need to do any other additional thing for it to work apart from replacing RDRAM with the DDR?

Thanks for the replies.

;) Yep new mobo is the only option. RDRAM is pretty much dead and way over-priced. For the mobo I'd suggest (order of perf & hence price) Intel 845PE with DDR-PC3200, SiS' Dual Channel version with 2xPC2700 (if you don't plan to o/c), Intel's GraniteBay Dual Channel using 2xDDR-PC2700 (esp if o/c'ing) or 2xPC3200 or for top perf an 800FSB ready mobo with Dual Channel 2xDDR-PC3200.

eh, its entered the popular parlance. try as we might, people are still going to say "DDRAM" "heatsink" and that anything with a fan on it is "active"
