Ok I have a wireless network setup in the house. Everything has worked spectacularly untill just now. This problem is with two specific computers: One has a WiFi card and USB LAN card and the other just a LAN card. So I'm trying to network them together to both A. swap files/stream files and B. get it so the second computer has internet access.

Where I'm at---

I have a crossover cable between the two PCs and apparently they see each other because I can access each other's sharedfolders just fine. The problem I'm having is when I go into Network Connections and click "Setup a home or small office network" to share the wireless connection I get an error that says "cannot complete the network setup wizard. an error occurred during configuration of the network on this computer. you can configure your network manually..."

I just did this same process on my Laptop (i was connecting to the internet on this 2nd desktop (the one w/o a wifi card) through the laptop's wifi card) and it worked flawlessly. I bring the desktop over to it's new home and I have this problem.

So I have part A. down. I can access the network just fine, I just can't get internet access! Please help!

Have you tried sharing the wireless card without using the network wizard? Just go to the advanced properties for the wireless card, and check the box that says allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection. It should then set the IP address of the USB lan card to 192.168.0.1 automaticly. On the second computer, go to the settings for the lan card, click properties on the TCP/IP settings, and make sure you have it set to obtain IP address automaticly.

Hey! Thanks for your help. Although it didn't fix the problem, it allowed me to find out what that damn error was. Apparently when you share a connection like this it needs to use the I.P (like you said) 192.168.0.1 which just happened to be my router's address. So after quickly changing that address it now works!

Thanks!
