Question about XP and via 4 in 1

When I install the latest via 4in1 (4.34) in windows XP, the installation goes ok and all that and it reboots. But when i check the driver details about various hardware (such as hd controller, CPU to PCI bridge and so on) it still says they are using the default driver that came with windows XP.. so am i doing something wrong when i'm installing them? or don't you need the 4in1's for XP? or do you need a special xp version of the drivers or what? I can tell they're not installed properly because the computer lags during heavy disk activity (classic sign of no DMA enabled) and it never did in windows 98 with the 4 in 1's installed..

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

The "new" VIA 4-in-1 drivers do nothing for XP... XP ships with the latest version and the only thing that gets updated by loading the new 4-in-1 drivers is an info file.
