specifically, i would liek to know if these cards have built-in, native support for 1920 x 1200 resolution.

can some owner of one please check and confirm for me eitehr way ?

okay i have a x1900xt :! i have used it on a Dell 2045FPW which has a native res of 1920 x 1200 and it worked perfectly.

I have played few video High Quality Video Trailer H246 1080 Trailer and it worked perfectly.

Right Now the ATI driver support for R580 isn't the best but the CAT 6.2 will rock which come out sometime in feb.

ATI AVIVO converter rocks and i do use to encode video for my Ipod video and it does them extremely fast , faster than any 3rd party software i have ever used.

I would how ever recommend that you change to cooling system to an Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 because it keeps the temp down without making alot of nosie.

I think it is an awesome cooling system and can be easily comparable to the cooling system on the 7800GTX 512mb.

thanks, just doing some research fro my near-future upgrades.

my radeon 9800 pro doesnt have any sort of native wide screen support, gave me a bunch of headaches and drama, after which i went and bought a low end nvidia card just to get me by until my system change. surprisingly, even lowest end nvidia cards dont have any problems with wide formats and wide resolutions.

thats bizare, I can use 1920x1200 res on my 9800pro, i am guessing that the monitor has not been recognised correctly for that to not work.
