question about working for publix...

i'm on summer break going into my sophomore year in college... decided to apply for publix since i need money.... they call me, i go in, do the interview, i have to do a drug test
but on my way home, i realized they never told me what day to come in

are they going to call me after the drug test goes through??
what do they usually do... i have to do orientation which lasts 2-3 days

 
Once they find out that you hang out here it's all over. 😉

My wife works part time in the Bakery and she says that they will probably get back to you in a couple of days. They might even start you before you actually get the test.

But if you actually fail the test later you are immediate history with them forever. Publix is really strict on drugs and appearance.
 
You'll probably get a call, but you may want to call and ask -- it won't hurt. Do you already have a date for your orientation? If so, you may get the drug test paperwork then, if it hasn't been given to you already.

Out of curiosity, what department/job class are you shooting for? I started as a bagger, but meandered up to office staff... 🙂
