I remember something from physics several years ago about wiring in a series and parallel and that it effects Ohms.

My quick question is I've decided to save some cash and wire up my 2 ten inch subs, but I have run into a question. They are 4Ohm subs with dual voice coils, so how can I wire them to make them 2 Ohm or 4?. My amp is 2 Ohm stable, so would like to use that, but with the dual voice coils I don't know how to do this.

Thanks

Kevin

Just follow this link which has some good information. That should be all you need to know.

Put them in parallel. For two equal resistances in parallel, the combined resistance is effectively half so (4 and 4 = 2).

That would work if they were SVC but he's got DVC subs. Putting them in parallel with what he's got right now will give him a 1 Ohm load.
