Question about Wireless set up on other end...

I have a server in one room that is the point where I have a cable modem hooked up to a wireless router...

I want to hookup a switch to hook 2-3 or even 4 computers up in another room. Is there a way that I can hook up a Wireless G connection to a switch so that I don't have to drill holes throught the walls?

I guess I could buy wireless adapters for all the computers. But I'd rather just have one adapter since I only have one why spend extra $$?

I was thinking I could get the one computer hooked up wirelessly then install another NIC card and port forward it out to the switch. Is that possible? How do I go about doing this?

Thanks for all your help. Maybe there is a better way. Like I said I don't want to run cat 5 or drill any holes. Hard wire is out . I know it is easy I just don't want to go there!

Thanks!

Yeah you can try, you would have to use Software NAT (ICS) past the Computer with the Wireless Card and it would result in two separate Networks. It would be Quirky but you would save "Big Bucks"😉

Alternatively, you can buy a Group Bridge, stick it to the Switch, and connect all the second room?s computers to the switch (Group Bridge is more than $50).

Alternatively, you can find few inexpensive Wireless cards (there are decent Wireless PCI card for less then $20).

you could buy one wireless card, put it in "computer1", wire him into the switch, connect to wireless and then "bridge the connections" (if you have XP, this is easy).
