With my new GTX480 videocard came a HDMI output, which I decided to output on my TV using a 30foot or so cable. This works great, the only problem is getting up to the computer every time I need to start a new movie or whatsoever. (I just bought a G27 wheel and playseat race simulator I want to use in front of the TV to)
Now I'd like to buy a wireless keyboard and maybe mouse (a touchpad+keyboard would be awesome). But here's the deal, I've never owned a wireless keyboard ever, as I have never understood the use for it. Anyway.. so having no experience with them I have no idea how this could work with my setup.
I've read that there are both Radio Frequency and bluetooth wireless, but how do they behave? Apparrently having a clear response troughout google/forums about it is pretty hard. Some say RadioFrequencies can do up to 2-3meters other say it can go over 5-6meters or other lenghts.. Same goes with going trough walls and obstables both bluetooth and RF technologies, people don't seem to agree on anything.
So in the hope of having a good response, I'd like to know what solutions are up to me.
Here are pictures of my setup:
As you can see my tower is hidden by my desk. The signal going from USB dongle would have to go trough (or over?) the desk, and my couch.
So long story short, would this work?
