will that help out my connection, is it better then what I have now?

There really isn't going to be much of a difference speed-wise between either of those. Your wireless speeds will NEVER equal those of wired speeds, and that's due (in simple terms) to the wirelessness of it all. Are you "typically" on a different level than the router is? (i.e. upstairs and downstairs) - that would explain why you only have 2 bars; the further away you are, the more the signal has to go through to get to you, and all those walls add up to a large amount of degradation.

Yea Im a floow down from the router, but it just makes me wonder cause the notebook is on 5 bars but my desktop is only on 2, I was also debating moving the desktop to one floor above the routher, the room is right above where the router is would that help my speed if i pointed the antenna down towards that room?
