Question about WinXP on my new system

Hey all!

I was wondering if it possible to place my same copy of Win XP on my new computer that I am building. I have a totally legit copy and *do not* want to be breaking any laws or anything. If I have to buy a new copy for the upgrade of my system (P3 to XP1800), I guess I will just have to do it. But I *do* have a copy of XP that is very legal, and was wondering if it is cool if I load it on my newer system and *don't* use it on my older system.

Seems legal to me, or am I wrong?

And if anyone tries to accuse me of piracy, please re-read the post.

AFAIK, you are licensed to use the OS on ONE computer. I don't think it matters which one, as long as it's on only one. You can buy additional licenses if you wish to use it on more than one system at a time. If you call Microsoft, I'm sure they will be able to help you further.

Don't they have a special lower cost license for this type of thing now? I remember reading about it long ago, but don't know if it ever came about.
