Question about WinME stepup

WinME Stepup is just some books and adds some graphical updates to Win98.

Its like a plus pack for Win98.

then there is the Upgrade version of WinME, the Full Version, and the OEM version.

Taken off the alt.windows-me newsgroup:

<< The promotional disk is the same as the full upgrade disk except only Win98
can be used as a qualifying product. In other words it will not upgrade
Win95 systems. This is to give a price break to those who upgraded to 98

hehehe, we all have our moments...

I've been wondering same thing all day as I wouldn't mind upgrading Windows and don't want to pay another $90 to do it, but don't want to pay $50 for a glorified "service pack", either. Bad enough every time I have to do a reinstall now I have to install 98, then upgrade to 98SE. If I can get clean install of ME in one shot for $50, I'd be happy....
