Have done a little research and this is what I have come up with so far. If you have xp2 on your current rig you can utilize it on 1 time on another system so long as it is in the same house and is considered a "Mobile" device. I have also read from the microsoft site that you can take the OS off one puter and put it on another (provided you remove it from the prexisting machine). I purchased the professional edition Nov 04 and want to make sure I am correct in what I do here. Trying to get all the latitude I can here without buying another OS. In hind site I should of purchased the OEM instead of the "full".

Another question...the new vista coming out...will you be able to use the Dell 2005 monitors with it? Have read some that the Dell monitors do not support what Vista is going to provide.

thanks for your responses...

There is no truth to you being able to use a second copy. Please post links to where you believe you saw this. Also, the full version is prefereable to the OEM, so not sure why you said that.

All OS's have an issue in that they need to support HD video but to do so requires they protect the content all the way to the display. Your monitor will work, but some HD content might have to be downconverted and shown in DVD quality. This is not a Vista issue (e.g. you won't be able to show the content on XP, Tiger, or Linux either).

While the Office license allows for simultaneous desktop/laptop installation, Window's license does not.

The blame for the ridiculous DRM on monitors BS should be placed fully on the movie studios. Especially for their demands that they can choose either to force video to be downsampled or to not play at all if your monitor isn't DRM-compliant. This is utter rubbish, and only shows how greedy they are and how little they care about their customers.
