Question about windows file permission and a new hard drive install

episodic

Lifer
Hi,

I had my old window's install crap out. I decided to get a new harddrive (as I was using an old 20 gig one). . .

Anyway, I had a bunch of important things on my old windows xp desktop, that I was hoping I'd be able to get to when I slaved the drive.

The old drive is slaved as drive d. I can see all the old folders although when I try to go into the folder that was once my desktop, it basically gives me a permission error.

The windows install is corrupt, so I can't remaster it and boot into it.

What can I do?
