Question about Windows 7 update....

Among others I use Wise care 365 to keep the pc clean. Every other day during the cleaning process it finds copies of Windows updated files and it says it is safe to erase them which I do.
The problem is that Wise keeps finding these files every other day and my last windows update was about 2-3 weeks ago and I have auto updating turned off.
What gives?

Does it say which windows update files that it is finding?
or the path to them?

If i remember right, there was an update to the engine itself that sometimes installs when you go to manually do updates. it might be that its seeing

I don't know about Wise, but my AV and AM software get updates everyday - I would never want to turn them off.

You're talking about Self Update; it should be a once and done thing, installed right away at scan time.

True, but if the wise care is finding them, or not aware of them to keep them there it might be removing them, then they get installed again, and the next time wise care scans it sees them again and wants to remove them.

That's why I asked what files it wants to remove, to get a better idea why its always find them

Selfupdate *should* update near instantaneously IIRC. Unless the AV software is scanning in real time.

That's an update to the antispyware/antimalware built into Windows 7. It's an API caller to Windows Update, and thus bypasses your Windows Update settings. You'd have to disable the anti-malware service, or disable the windows update service to stop this.

My question is...why is your "protection" software trying to prevent things like Windows Update and the build in anti-malware stuff from being updated?
