ok, here is the deal. i have been looking up info about how to make a bootable win98 cd that will automatically fill in the cdkey for me when i run thru setup. one thing lead to another and now i am interested in making a cd that run's through an automated unattended win98 install. here is the part i am not sure of. can i include in the autoexec.bat file a few lines that will format the c:\, copy the cabs from the cd to the hd, and then run an automated install from the local cabs? or am i asking for too much? :)

No, my attitude is "anything's possible", at least in the programming world. It looks like you have some methods here to change the way the install CD works. What are they? To me, the easiest way to do this is to just do your basic install of Win98 and make an immediate backup of the partition, which is restorable very easily... say with Norton Ghost or Powerquest DriveImage. Not knowing how to hack to CD, that's what I would do.
