Ask the IT guys. They will be able to hook you up if they made this possible. Best part is, you dont have to worry about breaking the rules and your security admin will have this login secured. Or something.

it's a small business i work for

If there "aren't no IT guy" ask him/her/it (double negatives piss me off 😉). Anyhow, what does the security policy say about remote connections? Is the server connected to the network? Is there a firewall? Who does the admin work there if there is no IT guy?

it's just a small server that handle
internal file server
accounting network
phone system
also boss is think to host the company webpage as soon as the contact from the company that host our website end.
Right now, there are no internet at the work
when need, there is dailup access

chuckie,

You can put a modem on the server and set it up as a RAS server so you can dial in.

Or you can put the server on the Internet, then log onto the Internet from your laptop and VPN over the Internet into your server.

If you don't have "IT Guys", then you absolutely DON'T want to put your server on the internet.

Buy a modem for the server, and configure the RAS service. Then you can configure your laptop to dial into the server, and log you in there.
