Question about WIN2K on a single CPU moved to Dual CPU...

Hello All,
I would like to move over to a new mainboard that has dual cpu support,
If I just replace the mainboard will WIN2K detect the Dual CPU's or will I have to do a clean install.

BTW the pesent mainboard is a ASUS CUSL2(i815) and the new one is MSI 6321D-AR(694)

Thanks in advance

Ideally you want to do a clean install since Win2K uses a different HAL for SMP. You can try to change the Machine Type driver (the one where everyone changes from ACPI to Standard PC) to Symmetric MultiProcessor, but I don't think it will work, since support will not be complete.

Best to do a reinstall.
