Question 1 - Yes, maybe, but there are several channels to choose from for this reason.

It is possible if you have old (one of the very early release) of 802.11.g.

Most of the recent 802.11g would not be pulled down by the presense of 802.11b signal.

Thanks guys. With all the 2.4ghz phones and wifi's in my area I was afraid I would get speed in the K because of all the signals in the area.
