Well..currently I am downloading a torrent and browsing the internet is really slow because of it. However...if I download an attachment from gmail it goes at like 500Kbps and downloads really quick....why can't the rest of the internet still load that quickly? Doesn't seem to make much sense...

HI NIK!!

It all depends how much you are UPLOADING. If the outgoing stream is maxed out then the Intarweb will feel slow.

If you got for example 50kB/s max upstream and your outgoing traffic is 48kB/s everything will feel slow. Set your max upload speed at 40kB/s or so in this case.

Set your upload to 5K and this will help a lot.

Download speeds are dependent on other peoples upload speeds... if you are waiting on a torrent seeded by dialup users you are screwed. 😉
