So my laptop is acting like a total POS and shutting down/resetting by itself when I burn DVD's or play games (new issue) and I'm thinking about sending it in to Acer for a repair.

The problem is I bought 2x 1gb sticks of ram to replace the 2x 512mb of DDR2 (then sold it). Is it safe leaving my new ram in? Or would I have to keep a gig just in case? Has anyone sent in their laptop to acer before?

Thanks a bunch!

I would take out one of the sticks just in case. Also consider removing the hard drive if that isn't part of the problem (or at least back it up) since you risk it being formatted over during a warranty repair.

Good luck dealing with Acer, I hear they are really bad when it comes to any kind of support.

I did not have any problems when I RMA'ed an lcd. It was pretty easy, the hard part was finding the info so I could RMA it.
