Question about VMware?

I want to get it. where can i go? is it free? how to i use it when i want to? how do i easily infect it? Is this how people normally test AV/AS? What are the RAM/Processor requirements?

So for all of these questions, but i would like to know about this.

Can a mod or admin move this if it is in the wrong place? Thanks!

Go to www.vmware.com. There is a free version called VMWare Server and ESXI is free as well, but the free version of ESXI can't be managed by Virtual Center if I recall correctly.

Or you can use Virtualbox http://www.virtualbox.org/ Not sure but think free Vmware has some limitations on snapshots? Virtualbox does not have any.

The article show how you can blend vm box with Windows. Virtualbox can do a bit of the same, shared folder. Useful but be careful if you plan to test virus and stuff. Make use of snapshots.

Yeah, IIRC, the free VMWare only allows you to keep 1 snapshot per guest.

MS VirtualPC is the easiest if you're using Windows on Windows. It has the fewest options of the VM products, but for simple needs it works really well.

All i want is a free virtual machine like VMware. All i want to do with it is to test the Antiviruses and antispywares.

I have decided to not use a virtual machine. I will watch others do it. But i will make a Bootable Antimalware disc
