Question about Vista install.

This machine should be pretty fast, it's got a quad core CPU in it. I know Vista is on a DVD and takes up a lot more space. While booting off the Vista dvd, it went to the bar which loaded kind of quickly, then it went to the screen with the Vista background and a cursor and just sat there for about 5 minutes until it finally brought up the screen where you could click next to install Vista, then while it was expanding files, it stayed at 0 percent for at least a minute, I'm just wondering is that about how fast it should be or is it really slow?

What's the full spec of the machine? How long did the overall install take? From what you've said it seems a little slow but then performance once it is installed should be what matters.

The install can take a bit of time. A fresh install is about twice as fast as an upgrade, though. It sounds like your experience is totally normal.

Yes, sounds normal. Mine seemed to take forever. But once all is said and done and you are finally using it, you may find it was worth the wait.
