I was wondering, can you use the Visa gift card the same way you would a credit card? Like, could I use it to buy stuff online? Just wondering. I don't see why not, seeing as it has a regular number and a security code.

Yeah you can. But it would really be a Debit Card.
I used the Simon Mall... everytime I swipe it I never have to sign anything.

Well it really doesn't matter if its considered a debit card or not, seeing as I'm only looking to spend the balance.

Alright, just checked on the Visa website, and it says that I can use it anywhere that a credit card is accepted, including online stores.

You can use it online. And it is similar to using a credit card in most cases. Exceptions: any place that pre-authorizes for a large amount may cause you big headaches. Avoid paying for gas at the pump and restaurants/businesses that add tips.

And why would that be? I only ask because I have a $50 Visa GC that I was looking to spend.

quite possibly the noobest question short of "what's a video card?"
