Question about Video Bios Updates

I currently have a Gainward Geforce 3 64mb, and I have the latest drivers 28.32.
Unfortunately when I play GTA3 it seems to be laggy at resolutions 1024 and up, but I know people who have it running smoothly at 1024 with like geforce 2 cards. My question is, I hear about bios updates for video cards and was wondering if I should do that OR is there another solution to my dilemma?
