question about verizon wireless

looking into the verizon family plan with two phones-- would it be free to make calls from one phone to the other?

my g/f and i are looking to find a good cell phone plan where we could call eachother for free, and still have a decent amount minutes to use for other calls.

34 dollars for the verizon family shareplan seems to be pretty good... just wondering about the family to family calls.


anyone found anything better?

depends on the plan, i think we have 1000 mobile to mobile minutes to all verizon users

It's not free... they're mobile to mobile minutes and the amount varies by plan.

They had a promo for a while here in SoCal for unlimited mobile-mobile minutes for $34.99
Dunno if it's still going on.

I think you might have a chioce on the family share plan between 1000 national mobile to mobile minutes and unlimited calling between phones on the same account (both of these options only work when the phone is on a Verizon signal, not the extended network or roaming). I'm not positive though.

I just switched from Alltel to Verizon and got on a plan with my parents. They had something like 300 anytime and 1000 N&W minutes for $35/month or something and I had something similar with Alltel. Switched to Verizon, we both got new phones for free, and are on a Family Share plan together. We get 400 anytime minutes and unlimited N&W and unlimited anytime between the two phones (it was either that or 1000 anytime to any Verizon customer). The 400/unlimited is $40/month and it's $20/month for the second line on the plan, so it's $30/month for me and $30 for my parents. Pretty good deal, I think.
